Trunk and Treat 2010

Halloween night while Dan went with our youth group to the haunted maize Shaleigh, mom, and I hit the town for the last time. Shaleigh hit both churches up for their trunk and treat.

Our church loved seeing Shaleigh walk up in her outfit and go from person to person and she even found a crow to visit with.

We are so blessed that our churches are so active with the youth of our community and they always help out during the Halloween holiday. We had so much fun going from place to place and visiting while Shaleigh got even more candy.

After we got home we decided to leave the light on so that a few of Shaleigh's friends could come by for candy and to say HI. Shaleigh was so funny to watch as she sat in front of the door waiting for them all to show up. She would jump up come running to me and asking when they would come. I told her to be patient and they would. As soon as she saw the cars start pulling up she would run over to me and tell me they were there. I just thought she was so adorable sitting by the door. I believe that she had more fun handing out candy than going to the trunk and treats. Also we ran out of candy and she ran over to her bucket and started pulling candy out of them to give out.

The Friday of Halloween is always a busy night for us. We try to start out early and treat the elderly in our block and some ladies from church. They look forward to Shaleigh coming every year. I always wanted Shaleigh to know that it is better to give than receive. We also go out to the nursing home and visit Uncle J.L., Barnie and Doris.

Next we head to the square where the merchants have all come out to treat the kids of the town. We usually meet up with some friends somewhere along the line and this year Shaleigh wanted to go with her friends so we met up and walked the town together. They had so much fun doing this and enjoyed seeing each other in their costume.

Bowling anyone

Every year the Methodist puts on a Halloween Carnival for the community and Shaleigh loves to go. This year they had all new games and she enjoyed trying to master each one of them. We get to sit with other adults and watch the kids go from game to game and Shaleigh usually meets up with her friends and runs around with them.

We are blessed that so many of the churches do this stuff for our little ones and makes the holiday safe.

Playschool Halloween 2010

Well this is her playschool Halloween Party. They had songs and got to trick and treat every doorway down the hall. First they visited the witch and then the skeleton. They also got to visit the sweet grand-mom and dad. They each had so much fun going from door to door seeing who was behind them. This was the first time that Dan had been able to help out with a party and he enjoyed spending that time with Shaleigh.

Grandmom, Dani, and me supporting our mighty Hornets

This year mommy took off of work so that we could enjoy Friday together. It was a very busy day for us. She took Dani and I to the morning pep rally in the high school gym where we cheered for our Hornets. Than we went to the hospital and showed off Dani. Than home for awhile. At 4 mom took us to the afternoon pep rally at the courthouse square so that we could once again cheer for our Hornets. We had a good time watching Miranda cheer at the square.
At 5 mommy took me to Kylie's house so that her mom could do my hair for homecoming. Mommy couldn't figure out how to keep that halo in my hair so Sondra braided it for me and pinned the halo in and sprayed it with glitter.

From there we went to the game where Kylie, Laynee, and I cheered from the stands while our parents sat at the bottom of the stands so that they could keep an eye out for us. They do this so that we don't have to just sit there and we can get up and cheer. We also get to go down during 3rd quarter and cheer with the cheerleaders. Mom usually has a hand full of us go down with us and take pictures of us while we cheer on the sidelines. She thinks we will all make good cheerleaders when we get older. We won the game and left the game during 4th quarter due to it being so cold and I think we were all ready to go home.

Oh this year was also the first year for the school to do a bonfire since mommy left school. Her and daddy took me out so that I could experience my first bonfire. Daddy held me while mom went and took pictures. He wanted to make sure that I didn't get to close to the fire since it was so big.

We all had so much fun during Homecoming week and I look forward to next year and all the new adventures I will be apart of since I will be in school next year. Mommy might not know what to do without me around to take to these adventures. That is okay next year she will just have to tag along with me.

Look bones...the hip bone is attached to the leg bone.....

This was a new experience for us as we have never attended the pumpkin trails before. Off we went with Aunt Kristie and Dani for a new adventure. They always find good ones for us to explore. Shaleigh got to meet some new friends this time in the form of Liz and Camryn who is related to Dani. It was amazing to see Camryn holding onto Dani's stroller knowing that she was spending time with her sister. And more amazing than that was watching Shaleigh for a new friendship with Liz. For just meeting they hit it off like two peas in a pod even going so far as to posing just alike.

We all had a good time walking around the arts center looking at all the unique pumpkins. Once again Lubbock came through for us in providing a new adventure.

Here's to the next one.....
