I try to take Shaleigh every year to the different carnivals around town and this year Cody got to tag along. I think they had more fun at the Methodist carnival than the TCF one. They had more room to move in and Cody actually got to get down and crawl around. They had so much fun doing the different games at both carnivals and Shaleigh was joined by many friends and family around. We all had a good time and we took lots of baked goods home thanks to the kids and the cake walk. They each had costume contests and the kids enter in them both. Shaleigh won and so did Cody at the Methodist church. In fact they awwwwed at Cody because as soon as I set him down and turn to walk away he flopped down and crawled over to the little boy dressed as a dragon and started banging on his pumpkin and sucking on his tail. The judges thought he was adorable.

Thanks to the many people who work so hard to put these events together for the kids in our town. It beats going door to door which we do very little of.

David was dying to give Cody a sucker all night and he finally did at the church

Betsy, David, and I decided to take the kids around the square for our Freight Night and then to the FBC trunk and treat. We started out with 4 kids and when Betsy came out of the PD she had 5 kids. Lindsey had found us mid route and was having a blast with Shaleigh and Halee. The kids had such a good time and we enjoyed seeing Betsy, David and the kids.

This is the one located between Amarillo and Canyon. We all went together and had so much fun watching the kids go from one game to the other.

They had a big dirt mound and after you climbed it there were slides that you went down to get to the bottom. After Shaleigh went up and discovered this the rest of the kids had to experience this as well. Thanks Lee and Kacey for taking the rest of the kids up.

They had a duck race station and Shaleigh and Kacey got to try this one. The only problem was that the duck kept getting stuck and they would have to pump the handle extra hard to make it go on down the track.

They had big bikes (tricycles) that Shaleigh got to pedal around on, they also had a large dome shaped that the kids could jump on. Of course they had the cow rides, and a wagon that drove you through the maze. Of course Shaleigh and Uncle Lee took off on foot to find their way through the maze.

Overall I think we all had a wonderful time and I enjoyed spending time with Lee, Kristie, Mom and all the kids.

I loved this one

Last year we went to this and had a blast seeing how they carved their pumpkins. I think it is so neat to see so much variety by different clubs and organizations throughout Lubbock. The kids seem to have a good time. They had a few games at the front and I think Shaleigh's favorite one was the skeleton. She had to put it together and she did it in a heartbeat and they were surprised when we told them she was just 5 years old and almost named each bone while assembling the skeleton.

We had a good time and we also got to spend some time with Aunt Kristie and the kids.
