We were all so excited this year because I made sure that we purchased tickets for the the Polar Express. Thanks to Kristie and Lee for watching out for the ticket sales. We really wanted to take Shaleigh and let her experience the Polar Express.

She was dressed in her P.J. and ready for her first experience of riding an train. She was so excited and that was all she could talk about for at least a week. The day was cold and the line was long but it was worth the effort. The conductor and the hobo gave good shows as we stood in line for the ride to begin. Once on the train we were explained what was going to happen during the ride. The conductor, the bakers, the hobo did a wonderful job.

They began by reading the story, the conductor would walk up and down the isle with the book showing the pictures to all the kids. Shaleigh I believe was so excited that all she paid attention to was the scenery outside the window. She loved the clickety clack as we went down the tracks and the kids and grown ups were all talking up and down the car. The conductor and the bakers were clapping hands and signing songs.

On the part of the book where it says that we have now reached the north pole....us adults were like right.....suddenly Shaleigh spoke up and said...."Mommy look!!!!! There outside the window sure enough was the north pole. Lots of little house pained red and green and tons of elves and Santa waving from the ground. She was so excited and then what should happen but Santa and his elves boarded the train. They went around to each kid and asked what they wanted and was handed a bell from Santa's sleigh. Shaleigh loved the whole thing.

Once back at the train station we went into the gift shop in search of a Christmas ornament for our tree and while there we had our pictures taken in front of the Polar Express sign.

It was worth every penny just to see the look and excitement on her face. Thanks Uncle Lee and Aunt Kristie for waiting in anticipation for the tickets to go on sale so that we could all go.
