Tonight was the TCF carnival and we always take Shaleigh so that she can have fun playing games and spending time with friends. They always do an awesome job and we appreciate all that they do. This year Shaleigh was a butterfly and she enjoyed spreading pixy dust everywhere she went. Okay so a little confused on the whole butterfly but we had just watched the new Tinkerbell movie.

She ran around from game to game and laughing with friends, and of course collecting candy. She went home dumped it all out in the floor and shared with her granddad. What a wonderful girl sharing her candy.

Happy Homecoming 2010

Watch my split mom didn't I do a good job
Lining up to go onto the track to cheer
Go Cowboys Go....Go Cowboys Go
Getting ready to leave the track
Let's go Hornets....I mean Cowboys
Come on lets get this ball rolling
Aunt Kristie, Uncle Lee came up just to see me cheer that meant a lot to me

Well this was a first for us...going to Happy Homecoming. Why did we go you might ask? Well Shaleigh's Cheer/Dance class from Happy was performing in front of the crowd. I was so proud of the whole class but Shaleigh especially. I was excited to see what they had been working on since the beginning of classes.

They all had to wear black skorts, hot pink t-shirt with Happy Dance/ Cheer on them. She looked so cute and thanks to Sondra her hair was awesome...in braids. I was so proud to see her get out on that field and cheer with the rest of her class. Some of the other kids were too shy to go out in front of everyone else...but not my Shaleigh.

Thanks to my family who always come out to support Shaleigh in every performance she does. I'm talking to Uncle Lee and Aunt Kristie who come all the way from Lubbock after work to see me cheer and grand-mom and granddad who come out to watch me do my stuff. Of course we can't forget Dan and I who have been there for everything and enjoyed every minute of it.

Tulia Pumpkin Patch 10/10/10

Tulia Pumpkin Patch 2010

Kori, Luke, me, and Laynee still searching for pumpkins...can't figure out why we can't find any
Okay here is our collection
Kori, Luke, Laynee, and me with our pumpkins
Laynee is one of my best friends and I'm glad we went together
Here is our haul

To finish off the weekend we asked one Shaleigh's best friends and her family to go to the pumpkin patch with Kori and I. We went there together and boy what a crop they had a good one. Huge pumpkins...I was amazed because last year they didn't have a good one. We just turned the kids loose and they took off across the field in search of the perfect pumpkin. Dana and Robert followed them slowly and found big ones for their decorations.

The kids kept finding little ones and all of the sudden I heard them say mom look it is a whole daycare. They found a clump of little ones all together. I thought it was adorable. Kori went in search of our big pumpkins since I was taking pictures.

Dana and Robert found one that a raccoon had eaten a hole through and eaten everything inside and left. The kids found this so fascinating. I'm so glad that we took the time and went out there with good friends.

Corn Maze 10/9/10

Posing in front of the windmill.
They had awesome decorations for mom to take my picture around
Me in front of the pond with the windmill
Look mom how tall I have gotten
Wait will I ever be that tall
Me in the corn maze
Which way do I go from here
Me in the haystack maze
Pumpkins look at them they are everywhere
Okay I found mine
Me on the hayride
I found a new hobby....
Rock wall climbing
Down I come...that was so much fun

These are pictures from the corn maze outside of Lubbock on Frankford Ave. We took the kids out there that afternoon and they found a whole new set of adventures. They had to find their way out of the corn maze by singing songs and paying attention. Then while Kristie and I visited with a friend they played in the haystack maze. One minute you saw all the kids playing and the next they were all gone. All of the sudden up popped an orange bow they had all crouched down and were hiding from each other. From there we went to the pumpkin patch side of it and they all got to find them a pumpkin.

Thanks to Lee and Kristie we find lots of things to do to entertain Shaleigh on the weekends. We just want her to have the same opportunity that other kids do to get out and have fun.

Apple Orchard 10/9/10

The kids going into the Apple Orchard
Shaleigh reaching into the tree after her first apple
I found one mom.
See isn't it pretty
Here is another one
Can we eat them now
Leaving the orchard
Mom I found pumpkins, gourds, and a ghost
The kids eating their apples around the fountain

We decided to take the kids to the Apple Orchard in Idalou so that Shaleigh could see exactly where her favorite fruit came from. Lee, Kristie, Shaleigh, Landon, Preston and I took off for an adventure. Do you know that if you look for green apples or yellow ones you can't tell just by looking at them whether they are ripe or not so we decided to go after the red ones. After all if they have any yellow or green on them guess what they aren't ripe. Lee was the first one to find the red apples so the kids took off running to get to the right area.

Want to talk about apples they were everywhere...the trees, the ground, and in the kids mouths. They had so much fun picking the apples and eating them before they could put them in the bucket.

Soccer Champions

Their trophy so proud of our team
Our team with their trophy

Well folks at this time soccer is over and believe me when I say we will miss it. We had so much fun coaching it and we had an awesome team. Shaleigh actually turned out to be a good goaly and only let a few by her.

Going into the end of the season we only had lost one game, that was a major accomplishment since we had a few that loved to dance in the field than kick the ball. They informed us that we would have to have tournaments and that would determine our placement for the season. I would say that we weren't too pleased that our whole season would be determined by two games and not what we had accomplished the whole season.

I was so proud of our team they placed first in our league (since we only lost one game) and then we finished 1st place in the tournament.

After we were presented our trophy and medals the team turned to their parents and yelled lets go to the pizza hut. That was our treat to our team for being a wonderful team this year and for letting us coach them.

So amongst this summer we have played T-Ball, swimming lessons, and then soccer. And between the two sports I must say that soccer will be missed the most. So here is to next year when we come back for more. Regardless of what happens all that is important is that they have fun.
